New Executive Leadership Installed for Western Uganda Field of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Local dignitaries, church leadership, and hundreds of congregants gathered at Hoima Adventist Church for the official installation of the executive team of the Western Uganda Field (WUF) of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja graced the solemn ceremony as Guest of Honor, while Uganda Union Mission (UUM) President Pastor Samuel Kajoba served as the officiating minister.

The newly installed executive leadership team comprises:

• Pastor Anatole Mugenyi – Field President

• Pastor Paul Masereka – Executive Secretary

• Mrs. Natuhereza – Executive Treasurer

The incoming officers were formally introduced to the congregation by Pastor Nicholas Bitamazire.

Divine Charge: "Lead God's People to Heaven"

Delivering the divine sermon, UUM President Pastor Samuel Kajoba emphasized that the foundational mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to guide people toward eternal life in heaven. Addressing the newly elected field president, Pr. Kajoba stated that his primary responsibility as a leader is to explore every possible avenue to shepherd his flock toward salvation.

"The people under your care are not your people—they belong to God," Pr. Kajoba reminded Pr. Mugenyi, charging him to lead with love, humility, and genuine pastoral care.

Pr. Kajoba also delivered a message to the congregation, appealing for grace, prayer, and constructive support. He reminded believers that the new president and his family are human beings rather than flawless angels from heaven, warning that human mistakes will inevitably occur. He urged the church community not to use minor errors as grounds to undermine or fight the field's administration, but rather to partner with them in ministry.

Profiles of the Key Executives

Pastor Anatole Mugenyi (President) Pastor Mugenyi earned his Bachelor of Theology from Bugema University and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA) in Kenya. He began his ministry as an associate pastor before serving as District Pastor in Kikuube and later as Zone Coordinator for the Igayaza District. He and his wife, Irene Mugenyi, are blessed with five children.

Pastor Paul Masereka (Executive Secretary) Pastor Masereka holds a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology from the Adventist University of Africa in Kenya. He is married and the father of three children.

Expanded Regional Governance

The Western Uganda Field was reorganized in 2024 to strengthen territorial oversight and evangelistic outreach across the region. Under its jurisdiction, the field oversees church operations across several districts in Western Uganda, including Hoima, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Kagadi, Kakumiro, and Kibaale.
