Tororo, Uganda – More than 30 street children have given their lives to Christ following a two-week evangelistic campaign jointly organized by Hope Channel and Adventist World Radio (AWR) in Tororo.
The campaign, led by Pr. Dr. D.W. West, Assistant to the AWR President, inspired many with messages of hope and transformation. Among the most touching moments was the decision of over 30 street-connected children to commit their lives to Jesus Christ.
In the wake of the campaign, the children have found temporary shelter in a small one-room house they now call home. However, we continue to appeal for support to help them transition fully off the streets. We call upon all well-wishers to assist in providing a more decent home, vocational training opportunities, and educational support for those eager to return to school.
“These children represent the power of the gospel to transform even the most broken lives,” said Pr. Dr. West, commending the collaboration between Hope Channel and AWR in reaching out to vulnerable communities.
The campaign featured daily worship services, Bible studies, and community outreach initiatives that addressed both spiritual and social needs. Local church members have since stepped forward to mentor and support the newly baptized children as they begin their new journey of faith.
Hope Channel and AWR reaffirmed their commitment to spreading the message of hope through media and community engagement, ensuring that the impact of the Tororo campaign continues long after its conclusion.
